The Importance of art

"Tax dollars should not be wasted on art, music or theater classes in high school. Public high schools should be about training young people to enter the work force. Period."

I agree to this, to an extent. Training our youth to do taxes, work, etc is far more important than singing or drawing. While we should still have these classes an option, we should focus on what actually matters and what is truly important. School is in a bad place where we focus on nothing useful for later in life. Why do i care how to graph a hexagon, i don't know, it is not useful and never will be. We should let our students pick their classes instead of putting them in useless classes which will never benefit them.
